Losing Belly Fat

The Natural Path to Losing Belly Fat

By: Vince DelMonte

When I ask people to share their fitness goals, more often than not, they tell me they want to lose their belly fat. I think that's partly because a lot of people equate fitness with tight abs. But another part is that belly fat is just harder to shed. Even folks that work out strenuously and diet conscientiously will often find that the last couple of pounds of fat around their belly is the toughest to trim off.
Why is belly fat harder to get rid of? Blame in on hormones! Culprits like estrogen, insulin, leptin and ghrelin, for instance, all make it tougher, but estrogen and cortisol both prompt fat buildup in the lower body, with cortisol being the largest stumbling block when it comes to losing belly fat.

Blame the Hormones!
Cortisol is released when the body feels stress. Whether it's mental, physical or emotional stress makes no difference. So it's important to realize that when you stress your body physically, you're allowing cortisol to trigger fat storage.
There are ways to manage your cortisol level, though, which will make it easier to shed your belly fat. Here are a few tips to help you keep your insulin level under control, manage your hormone levels and reduce your caloric intake from carbs.
Let's talk first about reducing your estrogen and cortisol levels.

Reduce estrogen by increasing testosterone
You may be one of the many people that thinks that estrogen is a woman's hormone. You may want to sit down for this shock, guys - you produce estrogen, too! Women just have an estrogen level that is higher than their testosterone level, while you and I are the reverse. Estrogen encourages the storage of fat, so reducing its production even more than usual will make losing your belly fat easier. And the easiest way to push your estrogen level down is by drowning it in testosterone. That's why some bodybuilders resort to steroids (even though they do terrible things to their systems).
Since a natural method is much better, your way to boost your testosterone level should be by increasing your workout's intensity level. You can follow a quicker tempo or just push yourself harder - both will do the job.

Reduce your cortisol production
Reducing your mental and emotional stress can help too, but limiting your physical stress is probably going to be the easiest way for you to control the release of cortisol into your system. Studies have shown that during a workout, cortisol production is boosted. The shorter the duration of the workout, the less cortisol is produced.
Your body feels stress because of insufficient rest, too, so it's very important that you get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Studies show that people who habitually get less will have a higher level of body fat and especially more belly fat.
In addition, growth hormone is produced while you sleep, and it greatly lessens the effects of cortisol. So there's a double benefit in getting plenty of sleep.
Okay, that covers cortisol and estrogen - now let's talk about how nutrition can help you peel off belly fat.

Proper nutrition for losing belly fat
Carbs = insulin spikes = more fat storage. Got that? That means that cutting carbs can stop insulin spikes. And insulin is what triggers fat storage. What you should be doing is eating low-glycemic vegetables, grains and low-glycemic fruits like berries, with a high protein diet. Your amounts will be determined by your workout intensity, how much fat you're targeting and your metabolism.
High quality meat, nuts, leafy greens and healthy fats are perfect, as are olive and coconut oils. They leave you feeling full, but don't mess with your energy level or insulin production. Timing is everything
It's important to know what to eat, but it's just as important to know when to eat it. When you're out to lose belly fat, get your carbs in the morning. That way, you'll have plenty of energy, but you'll burn it off instead of storing it. You can get your healthy fats and protein later in the day.
I've said it many times, and I'll keep saying it - know how your body works and how it responds, and you'll be able to get it to do what you want. Burning belly fat isn't hard when you work with your body instead of against it. Control your hormones and your diet, and it's a lot easier.

You Want To Get A Nice Flat Stomach.

Get A Flat Stomach With These Tips

By: Flavia Del Monte

If you want to get a nice flat stomach, you're not alone. In 2010, nearly 145,000 women had tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) and nearly twice as many had liposuction (lipoplasty) performed, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
The worst part is, many of those women will have endured the discomfort and inconvenience needlessly, not to mention the expense, if they don't eat and exercise properly after the procedure.
Getting a flat stomach the natural way isn't as tough as people seem to think. There's no need to spend hours exercising every day or subsist on a starvation diet. You simply need to learn what and when to eat and undertake an exercise program that suits a woman's body. Your Abdominals and your Core
Those love handles you want to rid yourself of have a lot more behind them than you think. And if you want to be truly successful at sculpting that tummy, you need to understand your abdominal muscles and how they work. There are four main groups you'll be dealing with:

Six-Pack
Your six-pack is better called the rectus abdominis, and is actually comprised of just two muscles that run from the ribs down to the pubic bone. Their nickname, six-pack, comes from the shape they take on when developed, because of three fibrous bands and the linea alba that cover them.

Internal Obliques
The internal oblique muscles are alongside the rectus abdominis just inside the hipbones, crossing the body diagonally. They're the 'same side' rotator muscles that help you twist your torso.

External Obliques
These muscles run down each side of the rectus abdominis, at right angles to the internal obliques. They connect to the bottom eight ribs and run down to the anterior crest of the pelvis and linea alba, medially and distally. These work opposite to the internal obliques. Transversus Abdominis
Beneath the other layers of muscles is a layer that simply supports and protects the vital organs, but has nothing to do with movement. These are the transversus abdominis muscles, and they also stabilize your trunk, keep the waist tight and help the diaphragm expel air.

The Core
The core muscles, which are essentially all the rest of the muscles that are in the trunk, include both major and minor muscles. The majors are the internal and external obliques, the rectus abdominis, the pelvic floor muscles, the diaphragm and the multifidus, which is a series of muscles running along the spine The minors include the gluteus maximus, latissimus dorsi and trapezius muscles. Both groups work together to provide support to the back when moving, bending, sitting or standing, as well as helping to prevent injury.

Abs Alone won't Cut it
If you think that doing lots of sit-ups and crunches is going to get you that six-pack you want, you're in for a rude awakening. In fact, you may already have a decent six-pack... but you just can't see it.
Your stomach has to be lean and mean before you'll sport a defined six-pack, my friends. Imagine putting six softballs under a thick rug - all you'll see is a rectangle through all that padding. Trade the rug for a linen sheet, though, and all six balls will show, very well defined. If you have any fat on your stomach (and most people do), it's acting just like that rug - hiding what's underneath.
Lose the fat... show off the six-pack!

Be a Tummy Trouble Myth-Buster
I hear people complain all the time about how stomach fat is SO much harder to lose than any other kind of fat. Hogwash! Fat is fat, wherever it is!
Sure, a lot of people tend to store more fat in their midsection, because that part of their body gets less exercise. But when you put your system into a fat burning mode, you're burning fat all over your body. Keep burning it until it's gone!

For a Flat Stomach, Eat Right
Making smart choices of what and when you eat is critical to hitting your weight loss target. For instance, you need to watch your GI (Glycemic Index). That's the measurement of how each food affects your blood sugar level. A higher number means a food causes a higher rise in blood sugar. When that happens, the body produces more insulin and starts storing the excess sugar for later use.
Eating high GI foods is okay... just do it after a good workout, when your body is building muscles back up, so it'll be burned off, not stored as fat.
Americans, unfortunately, tend to overdo their carb intake to an incredible degree. Carbs are great for energy to exercise and recover afterward... for a stimulant, not such a great idea. Carbohydrates = energy. If you're not burning it, you're turning it into fat. Enough said!
By watching what you eat and when, in combination with the right exercises, you can lose weight in your midsection. But that sexy six-pack will never be yours, without following a sensible diet and exercise program. Learn the right foods, the right timing and the right exercises, and you'll be sporting an impressive six-pack for years.

Exercise RoutinesTo Keep Fit

Exercise Routines that Keep People Fit

By: Anthony Frank II

It is important to follow proper exercise routines to lead a fit and healthy life. Many beginners are unaware of how to go about starting a good routine. They do not know what kind of workout would be most suitable for them. Different people have different objectives when it comes to what they want to get out of their workout. Some people want to lose weight. Some people want to stay in shape. Others want to enter and win bodybuilding competitions or sports events. Different workout regimes will affect the body in different ways. It is up to the individual to decide as to what his or her goals are and which routine will help them to reach those goals.

It is always a good idea to take the help of experts before people start their exercise routines. They will be able to guide the individual in the right direction. They may be able to suggest certain exercises that the person might not be aware of. Some people have certain health issues. These must be considered while planning the workout schedule. Health professionals will be able to advise them properly, making sure that they do not injure or harm themselves while working out.

There are specific exercise routines for each part of the body. There are exercises for building the abs and strong biceps and triceps. There are also certain training schedules that need to be followed for developing a strong back and powerful legs. It is important for people to not stress themselves when they have just started workout exercises. Many people get carried away, and in their enthusiasm, they work too hard. In the process, they end up injuring themselves. If the injury is very serious, they find that they are not able to train for a long time. This disrupts their schedule and subsequently they give up training altogether. That is why experts always advise that people should start their training regimes slowly and gradually build up the level of intensity.

In the initial days, most workout routines should not last longer than ten or twenty minutes. Only if the trainer recommends a more intense workout should the person work hard. Otherwise, the sensible thing to do would be to slowly graduate to longer training schedules over a period of time. These days there are many videos that are available for people who want to get some guidelines regarding training schedules. This is quite useful for people who do not have a trainer to help them. They can watch these videos that give tips like the right exercise routines for muscle growth and learn the correct way of training.

There are also many supplements that are available in the market. People can use them to build a strong body. This will also give them more energy when they are working out. Thanks to all these facilities, many people are able to develop a fit and strong body. This ensures that not only do they live a long life but they also live a healthy life.

Weight Loss Tips And Tricks

Finding A New You: Weight Loss Tips And Tricks

By: Robacai Berylove

Plan out your meals ahead of time. You'll be less likely to stray from your weight loss regimen when your healthy, low-cal meals for the entire week are written down on paper. Cross off each meal that you successfully eat as planned, and this will give you a sense of accomplishment.

Try to pack your lunches for work. When you pack your own lunch, you can control the portion sizes that you have. You can also make your lunch as healthy as you would like. Packing your lunch will help you to avoid going out to eat, which can be an unhealthy and expensive option.

When people suffer the tragedy of losing their sight, many find a great companion in a dog, and the same can be true with dieters. If you want to kick your dieting efforts into high gear, get yourself an active, young dog and go on those walking adventures that he or she will love and that will help you lose weight.

Breakfast is one of the most integral meals that you can consume, as it will help to reduce the cravings that you have during the day and inject energy into your body. Eat a hearty meal when you wake up and complement this with a light lunch, for maximum weight loss.

A great trick if you are not seeing any changes, it to take a picture of yourself. Do this once a week, and after about 4 or 5 weeks look at the first one and the last one, Chances are you will start to notice a small change in your body.

When you have leftovers, do not throw them away. You can have them again the next day. If you get tired of eating the same things, get some whole wheat wrap, and have an original wrap the next day with a little bit of mustard or curry powder to bring a new flavor.

Make it a point to eat more fruit throughout the course of the day, if you want to lose weight. Fruit should be a part of any good diet to begin with, but the more fruit you consume, the better off you'll be and the easier it will be to shed pounds. The antioxidants and vitamins in fruit, will do wonders for your body.

If you are the type of person who enjoys playing games or video games, then you should try to view weight loss as one more game. Keeping track of all of your stats can go a long way to helping you with this. This doesn't work for everyone but can be great for some people.

Have sex regularly. Someone who does not feel satisfied in their sexual life might replace their sexual cravings with food. If you do this, you need to become aware of what is frustrating you and work on it. Besides, sex is a great exercise and will help you burn calories.

If you go out to eat at a restaurant, ask the waiter not to bring out bread or chips before your meal. Munching on these snacks before your main course can add a significant number of calories to your daily intake. Instead, sip a low calorie beverage and enjoy good conversation while you wait for your meal.

Short of hiring a personal trainer, most of us are on our own when it comes to weight loss. We need to be informed and stay motivated. Know what works and stick with it! Take what you have learned from this article and use it as a guide to lose weight and become a stronger, healthier and happier individual!

How To Stop Night Eating

By: Robert Palmer

Eating food items or snacks in the night-time is part of the American approach of daily life. After a hard day at work, you arrive home, plop yourself down in front of the tv, and immediately start eating-a bag of potato chips here, a pint of ice cream there, a package of snacks. By the time the night time news comes on, you have consumed inside just a few hours more calories and fat than would be acceptable for the whole day. Evening is the time to decompress, to do things that are personally satisfying to an individual, like making time for tv set, studying, chatting to close friends, and participating with the youngsters.

Unfortunately, whether you are unwinding or performing chores-consuming significant quantities of calories without being conscious is just about the quickest method to sabotage any weight loss plan. It is very frequent to make harmful snack and drink choices between dinner and eating breakfast the next am . This period of time is actually when we have the lowest amount of command over our urges and come up with the most detrimental meal possible choices. Really few people are satisfied and content with celery or perhaps carrot sticks as snacks, especially with large bags of potato chips, pastries, or ice cream close by. In reality, individuals who are satisfied with healthy and balanced snacks probably do not have a weight difficulty in the first place.

Counter to popular viewpoint, just about all of the proof demonstrates that evening hours eating, even right just before going to sleep, carries virtually no effect on bodyweight gain or reduction. The problem is not at which time of the day you consume food, but how many calories you take in in total.
The equilibrium between how much you consume and how much you burn up off will determine whether you experienced a calorie shortage that day, whether you matched up your needs, or, worst case situation, ingested more calories than you used up.

The strategy for evening eaters is not to deprive yourself of all evening foods, but to instead make cleverer alternatives.
In spite of an individual's routine of night time eating, the very first step to getting it under control is to stop bringing "bad" food items into your house. If pastries, sweets, and these creamy ice creams are usually not within your house at 10 PM, 11 PM or 3 AM, you cannot eat them.

Two types of eating patterns occur pertaining to the period of time between supper and breakfast time. The first, the "munchies," is the most common, although poorly managed. This is done by men and women who start eating after dinner and snack until they go to sleep. Practically 75% of all men and women with bodyweight difficulties fit into this group and for many, this is the major trigger of their bodyweight gain.

The second type of nocturnal eating occurs when the individual awakens from sleep, taking walks to the kitchen, and consumes anything he or she can uncover. Known as "night eating," this is a well-recognised clinical syndrome. The Night Eating Syndrome (NES) is both a sleep and an eating disorder. Studies from centers that deal with weight problems indicate that 10 percent of obese people suffer from it.

This behavior pattern usually involves significant mood disorder and often responds well to selective serotonin inhibitors (SSRIs, i.e., Prozac®, Zoloft®, etc.). It is often associated with the habit of skipping meals, the absence of hunger in the morning, and severe mood disturbances through the day. In these cases, more than 50 percent of one's daily caloric intake occurs after dinner.

Differentiating between these two types of nocturnal eating patterns from a therapy perspective is important. People who have the evening "munchies" most probably have lifestyle concerns, and the "munchies" tend to be a dysfunctional habit that they have had all their lives. These people will certainly have to understand how to make better choices. Men and women with NES should first try a few straightforward modifications such as removing high calorie snacks from the home and replacing them with lower calorie, sugar free snacks. In addition night eaters need to keep some of the carbs like bread in the freezer and do away with leftovers in the fridge since these are the categories of snack foods eaten at night. If this does not deliver the results, they will need to look for the treatment of a medical doctor who is an expert in this dysfunction.

Do You Know The Right Way To Lose Weight?
by Christian Goodman

Let’s be honest here. You don’t seriously expect to lose weight in 3 weeks that took you 3 years to put on, now, do you?
Well, for some they probably can but it will only be temporary. Losing weight in a slow, steady manner is the healthiest way you can do it, and it’s also the only way to keep it off for good.
It needs more than just a diet plan, because those alone don’t work. It requires a shift in lifestyle. People often think that losing weight is hard because they want something that is quick, fast, and easy.

You must remove those habits that made you overweight. And you must have more body movement. The word ‘exercise’ makes us cringe, most of the time. But it doesn’t have to be a task that you dislike and it doesn’t have to be something that occupies most of your time. You just need to move your body more. The more you do that, the easier it becomes and in time, you may actually come to look forward to it and truly miss it on those occasions when you can’t do it.

Healthy weight loss takes time and typically you’ll see only a pound or two per week. Can you accelerate this with exercise? You bet. The combination of a healthy, sensible diet, balanced with all the food groups and exercise 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes will show you hard proof that you don’t need the latest fad diet making the rounds to get to your ideal weight.

You don’t even have to do drastic changes all at once. Start by making small changes that will make a huge difference if done cumulatively. For example, if you drink soda, switch to water. If you normally skip breakfast, try to eat breakfast at least 3 times a week. Eating breakfast really helps. Once you start doing that, you’ll feel so much better that soon you will be eating breakfast everyday by choice.

Phase out some of the fast food you eat, and some of the overly processed food that offers little if any nutrients for your body to use. Choose whole grain bread instead of white bread. Little changes. One at a time. As you discover what healthy actually feels like, you’ll naturally be drawn to want more of it.
Losing weight the healthy way doesn’t mean cutting foods out completely, even ‘bad-for-you’ foods. It’s unreasonable to think you’ll never again eat another piece of birthday cake or Thanksgiving stuffing or Christmas candy. If you’re watching what you eat, even 80% of the time, the other 20% you can relax a bit.
Overweight people are also missing something else from their lives, and that is oxygen. The body can burn fat much more quickly when enough oxygen is present. I have created a program which will provide your body with the oxygen it needs.

My ‘Weight Loss Breeze’ program connects perfectly with your weight loss efforts. These simple exercises only take a few short minutes a day, but the effects on your weight are astounding. When you combine the Weight Loss Breeze with proper nutrition, even without exercise, you will see your pounds melt away.
